Apprenticeship as a businessman/woman

Job definition

Business people perform a wide variety of activities in administration, management, purchasing and sales. These are: Quotation calculation and order entry, writing letters, creating reports, drawing up protocols and contracts, developing concepts, accounting, making agreements with customers and suppliers, making clarifications, purchasing, selling, organising, planning, etc. Good industry knowledge of the products and services to be sold is important. The computer is used for most of the work. Continuing education is a must in this profession. In order to cover the different training points, our apprentices are employed in different departments.

What do you need to bring?

Business people usually carry out a wide variety of tasks in different areas independently. Sociability and organizational talent are an advantage. Enjoyment of working with computers, interest in technology, reliability, a sense of responsibility as well as foreign languages and mathematical skills are necessary for us to be able to carry out this profession well. Completion of primary school (upper school level with good results or middle school level with additional school year with good results in the core subjects) makes it possible to enter our professional world.

Apprenticeship as a glazier

Job definition

Glaziers are involved in the planning and measurement, cutting, processing and assembly of float glass, cast glass and pressed glass and process these into high-quality products. Their field of activity includes in particular the interior fittings (shower glazing, kitchen rear walls, etc.), the structural glass construction (railings, all-glass systems, etc.), the glass façade construction (canopies, various assembly systems, etc.) and the glazing of frames of all kinds (insulating glass, single glass). In addition to manual work, state-of-the-art computer-controlled CNC machines are also used to carry out this work. The newly developed educational plan makes the profession of glazier a future-oriented and demanding profession with many facets and possibilities.

What do you need to bring?

The versatile working areas of a glazier require good craftsmanship, careful and precise work and spatial imagination. Working with CNC machines and lifting devices also requires technical understanding. In terms of academic performance, at least a good intermediate to an upper level of three-part secondary education is required.

Apprenticeship as an automation technician

Job definiton

Automation engineers work in the fields of electrical engineering, control engineering, power distribution and industrial automation. They plan and develop production plants, robots, packaging machines, etc. They also check the functions of the systems and carry out maintenance work. When building new or converted machines, they are responsible for the electrical system and the control system. Especially in control engineering, their task is to implement new controls, upgrade existing control cabinets and use the right control elements and fuses. The wiring of the elements and the connection to the previous production plant are also part of their tasks.

What do you need to bring?

With a completed elementary school, middle or high school level, good grades in mathematics and physics, craftsmanship, technical understanding and abstract-logical thinking, nothing stands in your way of an apprenticeship.

Automation engineers often search independently for solutions to orders and projects for automation systems. When it comes to developing and designing a prototype, you work in a team. In addition, the learning automation engineer usually prepares the technical documentation from his work area himself.

What do you need to bring?

This profession is suitable for everyone who can show good to very good achievements in the natural sciences, mathematics and linguistics. Computer scientists work patiently and perseveringly and are prepared to continue their professional training. Good knowledge of English is an advantage.
